For each web request received, AmbientCWOP collects and stores only the following information:

AmbientCWOP only uses your E-Mail address to send you notifications via E-Mail.
AmbientCWOP does not share your E-Mail address with any third-party.

How Data Is Used

The data AmbientCWOP collects is used to either faciliate E-Mail communications with the user, provide QC data, or to send weather observations to another service (CWOP)

How Long Data Is Retained

AmbientCWOP only retains the most recent weather observation data for your station(s).
AmbientCWOP does not retain any historical weather observation data for your stations(s).
AmbientCWOP retains MADIS QC data for 14 days for your station(s).
AmbientCWOP retains other data (e.g., E-Mail address, username, etc) for the lifetime of your account.
AmbientCWOP permanently deletes all user-identifiable data and weather observation data for the user's station(s) if a user chooses to delete their acccount.

• CWOP identifier
• update interval

Scope: CWOP Data (Source: APRSWXNET/CWOP/aprs.net/findU)

• last update status
• last update timestamp

Scope: MADIS QC Data (Source: MADIS)

• MADIS ID
• QC observation time
• Temperature QC data
• Wind QC data
• Dewpoint QC data
• Altimeter QC data

Information Protection

For security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, AmbientCWOP employs software programs to monitor network
traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage to the information on this website.

Unauthorized attempts to upload, submit, change, or access information on this website is strictly prohibited and may be punishable
under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.

Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits.
